Inheritance

 

Here is a thought to start of your week. In 1 Peter 1:3-5:



 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

I read this in my devotions earlier in the week and it struck me again how blessed we are to be children of God. I mean, how awesome is it that we have an inheritance that is incorruptible and undefiled, does not fade away and is reserved in heaven for you. We don't just get this inheritance by living our lives here on earth, no, first we must believe on Christ and be saved. Then by staying faithful despite the temptations Satan throws at us, and by being faithful to Christ and living our lives for Him, then do we receive this wonderful inheritance when we die and go to heaven. So let us go forth this week and serve our Master to the best of our abilities!
